The books above were made using Kodak Gallery. They turned out beautiful. However, I'm waiting for Kodak Gallery to allow me to share this book with my cousins. I can make a similiar book with the other publishers and share it.
Why Photo Books
Photos tell a story, and Photo Books make wonderful family histories. Not only are they archival quality, beautiful, and inexpensive; but they can easily be shared! (Not all publishers share books though. See the comparison chart.).
I can create a Family History photo book starting from $29, then email my cousins to notify them of the book I have made. They can then preview the book, and order it for themselves if they wish. I do not have to collect any money, get addresses or anything. Its wonderful!
These books also allow full text pages to write your family history. Not all pages have to include photos.
Family History Book Ideas
1. Create a book of your own personal history. Include your baby pictures and childhood stories.
2. Scan or photograph your own handwriting to include in your photo books.
3. Interview an aging relative. Work with them to create the book. Have them write a personal note, include this in the book (scan it or photograph it).
4. Gather your old family photos, digitize them, and create a family heirloom to share with your extended family. Buy one for each child. Give as gifts.
5. Include personal histories, family stories, and genealogical data in the book.
6. Include photographs or scans of personal possessions, handwriting, bills, letters, maps. These will all make the book more personal.
